About the position:
The Career Services manager is a part time position that is responsible for managing a diverse caseload of clients with Information Technology and Management backgrounds who are currently obtaining skills training and career services so that they can effectively re-enter the workforce.  Through on-going career coaching, this position motivates clients to achieve their employment goals.
 
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking individuals who love working in a team-based environment that can excel in the following areas with both individual clients and potential employers:
  • Provide ongoing career coaching, planning, motivation and employment assistance for clients in training and job search
  • Assist clients with practical job search, career development and job-related issues
  • Help to facilitate workshops for technical resume writing, social media usage, professional branding, and job search best practices
  • Motivate clients to use our proprietary web-based employment services tools (TheProfessional.Me)   
  • Greet all visitors and students, notifying the appropriate staff members when needed
  • Answer phones and direct calls to correct staff   
  •  Assist in classroom and room rental materials setup

  • Strong computer skills – previous experience with contact records management systems
  • Ability to accurately take notes, document daily activities and manage a dynamic schedule
 
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of office or customer service experience (or Education/Experience equivalent)
  • Professional appearance and pleasant telephone manner
  • Ability to interact well with all levels of staff and the general public
  • Knowledge of basic computer software and office equipment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
  •  Positive and proactive attitude required
  • Proven ability to speak in public, address large groups, and effectively present material
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Chicago-land area
